Karen has been a licensed Realtor for over 9 years in both North and South Carolina. She is a member of the Western Upstate Association of Realtors, South Carolina Association of Realtors and National Association of Realtors and specializes in conventional sales of Equestrian Properties, Country Homes with Acreage, Luxury Estates and Historic Properties.
With more than 30 years as a professional rider/trainer/instructor in Equitation, Hunter/Jumper, Dressage and 3-Day Eventing, Karen understands the needs of horse people across these disciplines and those of Western, Trail and Endurance riding as well. “There are often different needs or requirements regarding the physical layout of a horse property, depending on its intended use. For instance: Logistics, topography, number of acres, type of barn or shelters, number of stalls and stall sizes, arena, additional riding space, access to trails, distance to equestrian venues, trail systems and more. Some clients can do with 5 acres, while others need 15, 20 or 100 acres. Considering these differences is key in meeting the client’s needs.” Karen’s ‘horse knowledge’ along with her appreciation and fascination for historic properties, has proved beneficial when assisting buyers and sellers with these particular specialty properties.
Karen is a former board member and chairman of the development committee with the SC Upstate Equine Council. She has been a member of USEF, USDF and USHJA. Karen runs a small, boutique-style boarding and training stable in the Five Forks of Anderson, SC. She also enjoys singing and puttering at her baby grand piano in her down time, as well as spending time with her daughter, grand daughter and son-in-law, who live in the Pinehurst area of North Carolina.
